I never played at this game, I'm going to fix this mistake now ! ^^
And who knows? Maybe after Derelict's French Version, why not a French version for this one too? ^^
So, I play, and I'll tell you my opinions :)
Ah, it's not one of my better games unfortunately, so hope it doesn't disappoint too much! The game is Derelict's spiritual predecessor and I re-wrote some of the story on it last year to also make it Derelict's prequel, so a French version of this as well would be awesome :)
Unfortunately there's not much text on it that can be edited right now so I'll need to spend some time looking at it.
But it has alot of cool things, for example, the Introduction's Cinematic.
It looks cool.
But there is alot of problems in the game, Ammo Problem, and... NO SAVE BUTTON O_o (xD)
I just tryied it yesterday, and I didn't save, so I'm going to finish it today.
I don't know how and why, the game sometimes scares me o_o
I hear footsteps coming from other corridors, I hear doors being closed or opened, this.... stressfull music, I do panic when I hear it, and when I don't know where the monster's coming from ^^
I like this game, not as much as Derelict, but I like it. You used almost the same guns, the same monsters, it's cool.
But for now, I have to work on the French Version of Derelict, and then I'll see for this game ;)
Anyway, I had fun trying it, now I'll finish it :)
Heh, the original game is much, much better, I suggest getting a C64 emulator and giving that a try sometime.
I admit the lack of ammo and lack of saving make it frustrating, but you could also argue those both add to the terrifying atmosphere ;) also thanks for your feedback.
No problems, but I'm still waiting the Derelict's files, I can't wait to finally finish it :D
Sorry about the delay! There's a fair bit to extract from the engine but I'll have a fully translatable version of Derelict to you by the end of Saturday, at the very latest (I might get it done tomorrow).
Ok :)
I'll be waiting :)
I love the look of this but I can't find the download button. Apologies if I've missed it.
Apologies, I'm not 100% sure what happened but the links appear to be there now. Hope you enjoy!
I look forward to playing it, l'll be sure to leave feedback.
I loved this game! Granted I preferred Derelict but this was still brilliant, took a few attempts to complete though I have yet to save the survivor as she likes to block lift doors. It was genuinely frightening at parts, usually when being chased by something when I'm low or out of ammo. I really did enjoy this and I'd love to see more in this style.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it Minion :)
Easiest way to save the survivor is to take her to the garbage disposal just above the cryo tubes, then launch her from the bridge. (Granted, this still requires an elevator trip!)
Since you enjoyed this may I recommend the original game? http://www.lemon64.com/?game_id=2003
I must have a go at that! Thanks for the reccomendation!
the game just spins no matter what i do, i just keep spinning around
Apologies, it might be related to gamepad or joystick issues - do you have any controllers plugged in? If so, can you please try without them being connected?
When I try to start the game from the launcher I get a message stating 'Some of the essential game files cannot be loaded. Please reinstall the game and try again.' Also, instead of the rocket ship icon on the taskbar, I get a coffin. It is the same icon from the horror game 'The White Chamber' which I have. Do you have any idea what the problem is?
Thanks.
I uninstalled the wite chamber and I didn't get the warning anymore. However, when I tryed the game, the window minimized, and whenever I opened Firestart, it would bring up and black screen, and then minimize again.
Hi there,
Apologies for the delay writing back.
First of, what are the specs of your system (in particular, OS version).
Secondly, have you tried redownloading and unzipping the folder? In particular, can you try unzipping it in a folder where the path contains no spaces? (such as C:\games\firestart).
Windows 7 Home Premium
Service Pack 1
Amd 7870
6 gigs on my RAM
64-bit.
I hope the information was helpful. I'll try your suggestion out in the morning.
Thanks, it worked! Really enjoying it, especially the tension! Thanks again for a great gaming experience.
No problem :) glad you've enjoyed it, thanks for playing.
I recommend checking out the inspiration for this game sometime: http://www.lemon64.com/?game_id=2003
