Overload 2012
Submitted by Earok on Sun, 09/23/2012 - 20:16Sergio made these screenshots and doodles of games from the entire collection for the Bundle download page.
Overload 2012 is over for the year. We had a pretty frantic race up until the very last day, getting everything sorted for the bundle and our table but somehow we made it!
The complete list of games that made it into the bundle:
- Smashbox (A Jolly Corpse)
- Wyv and Keep (A Jolly Corpse)
- Whale Bait (VideoJames)
- The Kiwi's Tale (Erik Hogan and Stephen Knightly)
- Derelict (Erik Hogan and Sam Jeffreys)
- WitchBlaster (Erik Hogan and Anthony Lau)
- Noah More Heroes (Erik Hogan, Sergio Cornaga, Michael Schaeffers, Andrew Young and Anthony Lau)
- Super Go Down The Hole (Sergio Cornaga)
- Malco Monogatari (Sergio Cornaga and Liam Bowen (with apologies to Pixel))
- AAAAAMaze (Paul Catling, Lianne Booton, Regan Music, Anthony Lau, Sergio Cornaga and Pavel Laletin)
- Trail Bay (Matthew Gatland and Alice Gatland)
- Attack of the Meeplings (Joshua Smyth)
- RoboFortress (Joshua Smyth)
- The Wizard's Lair (Joshua Smyth)
- Bubblegum Panic (Nanobot Studios)
(Plus also the "Launcher" application itself was a game. I'll post an HTML5 version of the game component sometime.)
$91 in bundle donations were collected, which we forwarded to Starship Children's Hospital, and we entertained Overload attendees and promoted local game developers to boot. It was a brilliant day, we all had a great of a time sharing our games with the public. Personal highlight for me was a group of three girls that really enjoyed a two-player game of the Kiwi's Tale!
Finally I'd like to extend thanks to the following people in no particular order (apologies if I forgot you!):
- Everyone listed above for their contributions to the bundle.
- James and Sergio for their invaluable support for creating and promoting the bundle.
- Hayden for also helping out at the table.
- Noah Baxter for his work on the launcher application.
- Seong and the Graphic Novel Cafe for running another fantastic Overload this year.
- Mark Sibly for kindly loaning a monitor for the table.
- Kirsty for her enthusiastic promotion of the bundle.
That's it for this year, back to normality for awhile! I've got some 2,000+ items on Google Reader to get through..

Great Idea Eric! It's hard to choose a favorite, they're all kinda neat and qwerky, each in their own way!
Joshua, were you the composer of test.mid from Attack of the Meeplings? Because that was a definite musical favourite for me.
Thanks mate, looking forward to seeing what you make for the Overload 2013 bundle!
That goes for you too Sergio. I believe the AOTM music was by Kristie Addison.
Also, congrats on making it to FreeIndieGames again.
Well done, Erik!
Thanks mate! Much appreciated =)
