Rest in peace, Rudy Vesele
Submitted by Earok on Mon, 01/10/2011 - 19:00This is long, long overdue but I only found out about this recently.
On February 3 last year, the legendary Rudy Vesele of freeware site caiman.us passed away. We only communicated a few times, but I'll never forget the kind words he had for my work, and I'll never forget the coverage he gave to my games (My bandwidth bill tripled the month he posted a review of Derelict on his site!)
Rest in peace mate.

That's actually where I first heard about Derelict, and how I ended up helping with the compatibility for Vista. It's nice to see that you gave him some credit. For the last 5 years, I've been going to caiman.us to play freeware games, and it's a shame that he has passed away. It's still a great site, for anyone who is interested in finding good freeware games, but it's not updated as much (at all) anymore, which is a shame. Rest in peace my friend.
Yes, his site is great, though it looks like they may not be able to do any further updates to it. I'm sure it already has one of the largest collections of freeware games anywhere, though.
For what it's worth, I'll put a line in the credits of Derelict dedicated to his memory.
