Hello there, I have played and finished your game, and here is my verdict.

As a game creator, I can guess how hard and complicated making a game is. And when I finished Derelict, I was a bit disappointed, I think the level are tooooooo much empty, you need more things, such as more tables, computers, wires everywhere etc.

That's all I have to say, and I saw that the engine's files are easily editable (sounds, texts etc.), it may be good as it may be bad.

Someone could copy the game by changing everything, but it is good for modding too.

For example, I'm working on a French Version for your game, voices, texts etc.

However, I have spent a good hour to finish Derelict, and I enjoyed it.

I hope you'll take those suggestions as helpfull advices, and not as mean comments ;)

Thanks for popping by and playing the game. I understand your criticism regarding the emptyness of the levels. It's difficult for a couple of guys to try and make a commercial length FPS in their spare time so we had to keep the detail minimal.

Today, I'll start by translating the English e-mails that you have to display during the game, then I'll translate the Main Menu, the prologue text, the game's GUI, the Panels (Atlas's plan, Terminals etc) and finally the voices, I know a couple of friends who will help me.

However, I played the first version of Derelict, and downloaded the latest version yesterday, I was impressed by the changement ^^

Better FPS, improved GUI, different game modes and a Co-op mode O_o ! Magnifique !

The graphics are really better, and being able to change the resolution of the game is really great !

I'll try to find better sounds if I can, the bioweapons for example, their meaning are annoying (too repetitive), and the "Boop" of the Radar is annoying too, I'll be replacing it by a soft sound, much more pleasant to hear ^^

From memory (although I could be wrong) I think that the menu systems are the only part of the game that can't be translated. Although this wouldn't be hard for me to add. Your planned changes sound great and I can't wait to see them.

Also, I deleted the speaking holograms because at the time I was planning a fairly major story re-write (which I didn't finish) and I thought the holograms as they were sounded cheesy. I just don't have a very menacing voice!

The voices of every soldiers also look too much "calm" for this ambiance...

Well, as you said, I cannot edit the Main Menu's language, and I can't find the Terminal's Texture either (Hacking password etc.)

I also have new gun sounds for the game, I'm going to send them ASAP

The Intro, the Endings A & B and all the emails have been translated in French.

I Have to work on the French voices now.

That's excellent :) I'll send you an email once I've moved the menu system and hacking screen text into a text file.

Don't forget to also move the GUI texts (such as"Entering Docking bay", "Fire Grenade", "Display EMail" etc.) as I can modify it easily :)

But the voices aren't done yet, but I have found better gun sounds.

Alright, almost all sounds have been replaced (Doors, footsteps, Monsters moans etc.)

Ok, Sounds are changed, voices are done & emails are translated.

One more thing to do, the GUIs and it's done !

I have introduced your game in the french community "Serious Doom Nukem" ( http://serious.doom.nukem.free.fr/ ), where they are all trying it, and they love it !

The Render is Direct X 7, so it should work on pretty much any Windows PC

Actually if you played that with an Oculus Rift it'd be a realistic simulation of VR simulations in games!

I loved Derelict but the ending left it open for a sequel and I was wondering if one is in the pipeline?
